Phrygia: The oldest people in Anatolia
Phrygia, which is called as FRIGYA in Turkish, might be the oldest civilization to date in Anatolia, maybe even older than the ancient Greek.
The valley of Phrygia located in Afyonkarahisar (Turkey) still has the remnants from the ancient Phrygia.
the date of Phygia goes back till 850 BC. One of the most famous Phrygian kings is King Midas who is believed to turn the things he touched to gold. also it is believed that he has big ears like a donkey. Phrygians dominated most of the west and Middle Anatolia and they competed with the powerful empires such as Assyria and Urartu. However, the foreign invaders possibly from Balkans or Caucaus finished the rule of Phrygia. Since then, the people of Phrygia survived but assimilated under the dominance of Persia, Rome etc.
